This article, written by Foundation president Robert C. Granger, was part of Developing and Improving After-School Programs to Enhance Youth’s Personal Growth and Adjustment, a special issue of the American Journal of Community Psychology (AJCP). The issue was edited by Foundation grantee Joseph A. Durlak along with Joseph L. Mahoney, Amy M. Bohnert, and Maria E. Parente and examines the current state of research on after-school programs.
